#CIPDStudentConf
It’s February 8th, 2020. I’m on my way to London to speak to around 350 CIPD students chaired by the dedicated HR practitioner that is Ciprian Arhire.
Alongside some of my most admired HR professionals, I am delivering session: A2 — Continued professional development — excelling as a people professional.
Before I spoil the session by revealing my takeaways, I crowdsourced from a range of super-smart, engaged and experienced professionals in my network and this post is their responses to my request to share some wisdom about excelling as a people professional.
A treasure trove of insight, hard yards and realisation, I hope this adds to those who attended today and are watching from afar; as a marker, a stimulus and a checklist for how to do their best work and in turn, create better work and working lives (HT CIPD Mission Statement).
And without spoiling my talk, here are my takeaways and summary linked to the CIPD Profession Map.
I hope this talk and the whole day inspires those who are building the future through their work in HR, L&D, Organisation Design, Recruitment, Payroll, People Analytics, Performance Support, Careers Advice, Apprenticeships, HR Business Partnering and all in between. To be our Chief People Officers of the next generation and the architects of a new possibility: Fulfilling work for all.
